A Change Is As Good As A Holiday
And, not-so-oddly enough, for me change always comes in big waves.
It’s been a long, bitter and cold winter (is that redundant?) here in Melbourne and I will admit to being affected by it more than I wanted to be. I mean, I got to work this morning (before 8 am) and the temperature apparently felt below zero! Really!
So, in anticipation of Spring and new beginnings (Spring officially starts 1 September here in Melbourne but I have a feeling it might be delayed), here’s my official list of changes that I will be starting as of today:
1. New site design — or hadn’t you noticed?? I am soooo happy, girl friends! And boy friends if there are any. I mean how cool is it to have a unique OOAK (one-of-a-kind) design just for me, myself and my site! There’s still a bit of tweaking to do, so consider this the beta testing phase with oodles of style!
Many thanks to my supercalifragilisticexpialidocious designer Wynne Ma (more info on her soon).
2. Low-carbing. Yes, the diet plan I have been avoiding to commit to all year. I lost over 15 pounds nearly 2 years ago on low-carb but fell off the wagon because I lost focus. But I now have to admit that when I finally decided to commit to low-carb, I felt really happy and excited anticipating things like cooking low-carb pancakes.
When I went low-carb back then, I never really tried out the low-carb recipes and stuck to just eating my regular foods sans the bread, rice, etc. And yes. I tried. Very hard. To eat salad. I am not big on veggies so I look forward to creatively incorporating greens and such into my diet. I can’t wait! Actually I already started yesterday, but I’ll be writing more about it in the coming days.
3. Visual blogging. This is probably the scariest for me, but to help me stick to the weight-loss plan, I’ll commit to more photos of me on the site when appropriate. And yes, there will be progress photos and eventually, (drumroll here) before and after photos! I don’t know who should be more scared, me or my readers (he-he!).
But there it is, it’s out there. You’ll see more of me just because I had an itch for a holiday but did not have the budget for it (sigh).

Hi Trish! I am totally with you with the salad! I realized after a lot of failed attempts (usually from my hubby who would make BIG salads) that raw veggies are just not right for me. I like them better cooked, you know ginisang pechay, sitaw, kalabasa, etc. So I just make those. Also cauliflower! Cauliflower rice! It is awesome.

Hey Dee, thanks for the tips! I’ve read about cauliflower rice even when I did low-carb 2 years ago, but never tried it. Sige I’ll try it this time.
And you’re right, stir-fry (gisado) is the way to go. But sometimes I do have some salad, basta budbod lang with cheese and flooded with dressing (mostly Cardini’s Caesar Salad Dressing).
