You’ll Always Be My Baby

This morning, my 2-year-old Ethan and I woke up at the same time (as we sometimes do since we still co-sleep) and I immediately started his day with lots of cuddles and “Good morning, baby” as I’m kissing his cheek. He didn’t respond immediately but after about 2 or 3 proddings of “Good morning, baby” from me, he finally said “No, Ethan!” and pointed very emphatically at his chest.

Oh, wow! I knew it was coming. My 8-year-old daughter corrected me last night when I said Ethan is a toddler. Apparently, he’s now a toddler-and-a-half. And it’s been nearly three months since he fully weaned. We’re still touch and go with toilet training but he’s getting there.

And I know it’s not that far away. A little over three months until it’s the night before three.

No matter. He could be 103 and he’ll still be my baby.  They all are.
