Enjoy Your Style of Love this V-Day!

Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I wanted to celebrate my style of love, that is Pinoy-style:

I love the scene with Juday and Piolo, and if you notice, at the tail-end of Juday saying “Mahal kita…”, the soft romantic music starts to play on cue!  What a hoot!

And love for us Filos always means buckets and buckets of tears!  But the denouement is always unending bliss and uber-cuteness all ’round.  All those tears just serve as catharsis because we know, deep in our hearts, that we will all end up running to the love of our life (in slow motion, with long, lovely, luxurious hair waving in the wind) and embracing in the middle of the screen as he twirls us around and around in his arms.  Cue the classic ending  from PS I Love You — no not the Swank-Butler curmudgeonly version, but the original movie from 1981 that made Sharon and Gabby one of the greatest Filipino love teams of all time:

And since we’re on the subject of love teams, then this is a list you cannot miss:

It’s definitely not definitive, because there are too many modern ones on the list, and I’m missing tandems like Carmen Rosales-Rogelio dela Rosa and even the likes of Tita Duran-Pancho Magalona, and of course yung mga kapanahunan nina Gloria Romero, Susan Roces and the like.  Maybe one day I’ll make my own compilation and try to gather video clips and photos that will show that KC-Richard could not possibly hold a candle to their parents’ respective love team-ups.

Meanwhile, I leave you with these little love gems to brighten up your V-day even more!
